The Yorkie Chihuahua dog breed is the dog breed that comes from the breeding of the two pure breed dogs namely; the Yorkie and the Chihuahua. The dogs are considered as one of the designer dogs and are considered by the American Canine Hybrid Club as well as by the designer Dogs Kennel Club.

The appearance of these dog's puppies resembles either one of their biological parent, the Yorkie and the Chihuahua.

The Yorkie Chihuahua dogs can be characterized of having the features of both the Yorkie and the Chihuahua but only differ on the degree of similarity. They usually have a small weight comprising of about seven to nine in pounds, these is a weight of a fully grown Yorkie Chihuahua dog.

The dogs are usually golden in their colors but the coats of these dogs can be in a color variety depending in the inheritance they take from their parents. The hair of the dogs ranges from medium to long. It somehow requires clipping for those dogs that have longer hair.

The Yorkie Chihuahua dogs can be found as naturally sweet in nature. They also posses an intelligence and like the other dogs, Yorkie Chihuahua dogs are highly trainable. It has a lot of energy and will not get tired easily despite of its limited size.

The Yorkie Chihuahua dogs are not harmful for children, and it can be considered as a good family pet as well as a good watch dog.

The Yorkie Chihuahua dogs are recommended to have bathing scheduled in two weeks time or depending upon the dog itself. The regular or repeated bathing of the dog is discouraged because the frequent bathing could possibly dry the dog's skin. Bathing should also be done less frequently in case the dog has shorter hair. It is also important to have the nails of the dogs being clipped regularly in at least every two weeks or if it is needed. Brushing of the dog's teeth is also recommended in order to avoid tooth decay.

The life expectancy of the Yorkie Chihuahua dogs is about 15 years. Like other dogs they can be subject to certain susceptive genetic problems, these are the hypoglycemia as well as the joint pain. The Yorkie Chihuahua dogs are nice and good to pet with. They are loyal to their owners and nice pets to have fun and play. These dogs are one of the great varieties of dogs that existed.
